Constructions Jeans and Boots on Pallet - Sam - I call him Sam.  Sam sports a dark construction shoe design with darker brown sole, and he stands atop an unfinished wood pallet, which might be found at his work site.  People at the construction site know that it is best not to ridicule his big flat feet, or else they learn the hard way.  Besides, no one can deny that he is really good at balancing on tricky beams and uneven ground.

Get to Know the Artist:
I have been having great fun and fulfillment working in ceramics for the last 10 years, and my favorite creations are my “Walkabout Jeans” figurines, as inspired by my most-loved piece of clothing - blue jeans.  For me, they are comfortable, comforting, protective, and they provide all the pockets I need to carry my essentials.  I wear my jeans until they are threadbare, because getting rid of them is like abandoning an old friend.  One day I pondered whether my old jeans could take on a life and personality of their own, and go out and explore the world. I decided to start modeling my jeans in clay and glaze, and I just love making them.  They have evolved over the years, and, as influenced by my last 15 years in Texas, many have become cowboys, as shown in my latest gallery pieces.  Each pair of jeans is individually hand-built, painstakingly detailed, glazed, and painted, one at a time, each with their own uniqueness, just like each of us.
