I call this one Pat, another overalls cousin to “Walkabout Jeans”.  Pat is an artistic farmer and embraces more traditional overalls with clasps and buckles, which are much more difficult to make than I had anticipated.  The yellow rubber boots are perfect for working in the barn, and the daisies enable Pat’s artistic expression.

Get to Know the Artist
I have been having great fun and fulfillment working in ceramics for the last 10 years, and my favorite creations are my “Walkabout Jeans” figurines, as inspired by my most-loved piece of clothing - blue jeans.  For me, they are comfortable, comforting, protective, and they provide all the pockets I need to carry my essentials.  I wear my jeans until they are threadbare, because getting rid of them is like abandoning an old friend.  One day I pondered whether my old jeans could take on a life and personality of their own, and go out and explore the world. I decided to start modeling my jeans in clay and glaze, and I just love making them.  They have evolved over the years, and, as influenced by my last 15 years in Texas, many have become cowboys, as shown in my latest gallery pieces.  Each pair of jeans is individually hand-built, painstakingly detailed, glazed, and painted, one at a time, each with their own uniqueness, just like each of us.
