A stallion rears up, posed forever in plastic, and in this position of power, yet his legs are bound. The cast shadows are layered behind him and allude to the “shadow self,” inviting the viewer to question whether the restriction is self-inflicted.
Get to Know the Artist:
Jordan Alyse Hamilton is a multimedia artist based in Austin, TX. She received a B.A. in Art with a minor in Graphic Design from St. Edward’s University in 2013, where she now teaches as an adjunct professor in the Visual Studies Department. She received an M.A. in Critical Theory and Creative Research from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, OR, in 2017.
