Ductus
Victor Selin
Gold Leaf on black canvas
49.5"h x 61.5"w x 2"d - framed
2026

Ductus is the largest work I have made to date. The image is built entirely from hand-laid glyph marks in raised adhesive, gilded one sheet at a time. Nothing is scratched or removed; every mark is added. Roughly 90 sheets of leaf went into the surface, and the finished relief stands about half a millimeter off the black, so the piece shifts as the viewer moves past it.
