Get to Know the Artist:
Chindi Chores brings together Swetha Sridharan's love for sewing, art and everything handmade. She has spent the last 25 years creating unique, small batch gifts for family and friends and is now thrilled to bring them to Central Texas. Chindi Chores launched in 2020 turning her passion into a small business. And when she's not fabricating goodies, she's spending time with her 5- year old daughter who shares her love for making.
Where Swetha comes from, 'CHINDI means scrap fabric and all her products reflect her zing for it, especially Indian hand block printed/ handloom cotton fabrics. Chindi Chores started with quilted bags and pouches and now includes a range of other unique, practical and sustainable ensemble of goodies.
Her fine art is based on Indian traditional/ folk art. Some of these styles include Kalalmkari, Gond, Madhubani and Jaipur blue pottery style paintings, most of which have manifested as home decor items.
