The first time I saw an encaustic demo however, I fell in love with the the medium and dropped everything else I was working on for it. I moved away from Austin shortly after my infatuation started and began using my time in Baltimore to learn all I could on how to paint with wax. After much trial, error and enlightened mistakes I got to know the medium well, and how I wanted to use it. For seventeen years now I have worked exclusively in encaustics and have had my paintings in shows, stores and galleries from Maryland to California. I am now back home to Austin for good for the last eight years and I’m still learning and inventing new ways to create with encaustics.
